Team

Management

  • Barry Fairley. Managing Director. Barry is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company and supervision of Acorn Capital's Investment process.
  • Douglas Loh. Chief Investment Officer. Douglas has complete oversight of all investments and he liaises with the analysts to develop the structure of client portfolios. Douglas is also responsible for the day-to-day running of Acorn Capital.

Portfolio Management

  • Paul Palumbo. Assistant Portfolio Manager.  Paul is responsible for dealing in all publicly listed companies, data analysis and daily portfolio management functions.

Private Markets

  • Robert Routley. Head of Private Investments. Rob is responsible for origination of private or non-ASX listed investment opportunities, structuring and execution. He is also responsible for the ongoing monitoring and management of portfolio investments.
  • Matthew Sheehan. Investment Director & Legal Counsel. Matt is principally responsible for deal origination, structuring and execution of investments as well as the ongoing monitoring and management of portfolio companies.
  • Tony Pearce. Industrial Analyst. Tony is responsible for the research of unlisted investment opportunities.

Research

  • Tim Hall. Head of Research.  In addition to overseeing the research functions of analysts at Acorn Capital, Tim is also responsible for undertaking fundamental investment research on companies within the Industrials, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Materials (ex Resources) sectors and selecting investments for client portfolios.
  • Kylie Molinaro. Analyst.  Kylie’s responsibilities include undertaking fundamental investment research on companies in Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples and Healthcare & Biotechnology sectors and selecting investments for client portfolios.  Kylie is also responsible for the development and integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) analysis into Acorn Capital’s existing investment process. 
  • David Ransom. Analyst.  David’s responsibilities include undertaking fundamental investment research on companies in the Energy and Materials – Resources sectors, and selecting investments for client portfolios.
  • Peter Russell. Analyst.  Peter has a mentoring role in addition to his principal focus of screening private investments, undertaking initial research and for potential investments working with the relevant sector specialist analyst to undertake detailed research and due diligence.
  • Anthony Swan. Analyst. Anthony’s responsibilities include undertaking fundamental investment research on companies in the Financials, AREITs and Utilities sectors and selecting investments for client portfolios.

Fund Operations

  • Christopher Simpson. Manager Client Services. Chris is responsible for the interface with Acorn Capital’s clients.  He also manages the firm’s compliance function on behalf of the Board.
  • Eng Ter. Programmer.  Eng is responsible for the development and maintenance of Acorn Capital’s information technology systems, including the company’s proprietary microcap sector database.
  • Carole Simmie. Funds Administration. Carole is responsible for supporting the finance, dealing and portfolio management functions of the business.
